In 2022 A BATHING APE®︎ celebrates its 29th anniversary, and the occasion will be honored with the launch of a special product collaboration with the most influential fashion media brand in the world, VOGUE, launching on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
The young, casual, and gender neutral capsule collection consisting of apparel, accessories, and kidswear, is a fusion of contemporary, sophisticated designs with the essentiality of modern Japan: BAPE®’s recognizable APE HEAD and BABY MILO® graphics incorporate the coveted VOGUE logo. The collection’s exclusive colourway is made up of the iconic ABC CAMO mixed with VOGUE’s signature red together with pink, white and black, to reflect strength, tenderness, and elegance.
For the first time, BAPE® will be using traditional washi paper as packaging, an ancient, long-lasting, and sustainable material used traditionally in Japan for umbrellas, paper lanterns, and shoji: washi needs considerably less water and chemicals to be produced than ordinary paper.
The collection was photographed with renowned Japanese model and songwriter Kōki at a traditional teahouse in Tokyo, capturing the world’s view on Japan’s iconography.
The VOGUE x BAPE®︎ Capsule Collection will be available at BAPE STORE®️ LONDON and UK.BAPE.COM from April 2, 2022 (Sat).
